Marion  Kent  Scarborough, Sr,

Savannah- Marion Kent Scarborough, Sr., 78, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Memorial University Medical Center.

He was born in Reidsville, Georgia, June 25, 1931. Mr. Scarborough proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. After retirement, he founded G.F.S. Auto Body Supply. During his years as a member of Bible Baptist Church, he was a Sunday school teacher, a Deacon and "the unofficial cook". He loved to travel and will be remembered for his kindness and consideration to all he knew and met. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Scarborough and Annie Collins Scarborough; brothers, Russell Scarborough, Fred Scarborough, and sister, Georgia Lee Bledowski.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Phyllis Jo Phillips Scarborough; devoted children, daughter, Beth Atkins Timothy, son, Kent Scarborough, Jr. Kim; grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Brandon, Cody, Katie and Christopher Keener; brothers, Joe, Kenneth, Ted, Jack, Dale; sisters, Mary Ann, Suzi, Linda, and Cheryl

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Bible Baptist Church with Dr. Herbert F. Hubbard, Rev. Thomas W. East and Dr. John Rainwater, officiating.

Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
